Brighton far from a simple task, says Wilson

RELEGATION battlers Brighton will provide as much of a threat to Swindon tomorrow as any of League One’s top sides, according to manager Danny Wilson.

The Seagulls made a poor start to the campaign and found themselves in deep trouble at the wrong end of the table, but since the appointment of Gus Poyet, pictured, as manager back in November they have slowly turned their fortunes around and are currently six points clear of the drop zone.

And with Albion on a decent run of form, Wilson knows they are a side to be feared.

“We’ve got another tough game at Brighton and it will be no easier than it was against Bristol Rovers or MK Dons, because they are a good team who are in form,” explained Town’s boss.

“This is a dangerous time to play any team with something to play for, because they are never easy games.

“Sometimes the results are unexpected and you get an unfancied team beating a side around the top.

“For whatever reason it will happen in any league, and this is a time of the season when it does happen.

“We have to make sure we are up and ready for the challenge, but we know on our day though that we can cause problems for anybody.”

Wilson believes Brighton pose a threat all over the park, and is confident that the side he made more than 130 appearances for as a player can avoid relegation.

“They’ve got quality players throughout in guys like Murray up front, Elliott Bennett out wide, good midfield players and power at the back through the big lads. You’ve got to be wary of all areas,” he said.

“Gus is turning their fortunes around. We said when they were down at the bottom of the league that they weren’t the worst team in this division by a country mile.

“They are a good side with quality individuals and have started to gel together. They are not out of it yet though but the signs are promising.”

Welcome Stephen Darby , don't be put off by the state of the Brighton ground , even Brighton don't like playing there , its one of those games and grounds you just have to grind out a result on .However you will enjoy the 4 games after Brighton , in fact you will think you are in the Championship .
Keep the faith see you at Brighton :0)

From what I saw of Brighton against Colchester last Monday, they try to play football with the ball on the ground. Should suit our style of play, as long as a decent ref is in charge, should be a good game. Need to watch Murray, he's a diver who will be looking for penalty's. Need to stay on our feet and not give silly free kicks away around the penalty area.

It was tongue in cheek, not seriously suggesting Brighton have no fans.

Will be a hard game. These are the type of teams who usually beat us. . The lads have to keep focused & play their passing game. Need to get an early goal or two to settle them down. Good luck Town. We have to win tomorow or the pressure will be on & we have got some top teams to play soon.

Faggots we may be, but you lot'll be needing big man hugs when we beat you tomorrow. Don't underestimate us, we're playing some cracking football at the moment, and if we have a good finishing day it could be embarrassing for you. Don't think you guys are going up, and next season it'll be a different story, mark my words!

Good luck tomorrow guys, enjoy the game and please, don't take the p*ss out of our ground. If you'd been through what we have the last 15 years you'd be glad to have a league one club like we are!

There's nothing here that suggests we're underestimating you, in fact quite the opposite.
You don't need to talk to us about being glad to have a club - believe me. You obviously know nothing of our recent history, 1st club to enter administration twice, very close to being liquidated twice, turn it in.
I won't ask about the 'browno' part of your name, I think that's best left unsaid......
