IT was disappointing to be sent off last week against MK Dons.
On different days you get different decisions, but it was just the way it went.
If you look at both of the fouls individually they probably were bookings, so I suppose I can’t have too many complaints.
It was frustrating to have to sit out a return to my old club Southampton on Tuesday night, but that’s life and it was great to watch the boys get our first win of the season, which was the most important thing.
In patches in games we’ve played some good stuff this season, but patches isn’t good enough and it is no coincidence that when we did it for longer periods against Southampton we got our reward for it.
When things aren’t going so well on the pitch, like it hasn’t been recently, it doesn’t really impact too much on the banter and morale in the changing room.
The usual suspects continue to get stick. Thomas (Dossevi) is a big victim for what he wears and how he wears it.
He’s big into his labels, which apparently goes down very well over in France, but not over here.
Thomas has also got a very different car to most of the boys - it’s not the run-of-the-mill footballers’ car that you expect to see in the car park.
I haven’t got a clue what it is, but it looks like it’s something out of Transformers.
Now Sheens (Alan Sheehan) has joined he will get a bit too, as he’s always been very open to receiving banter and handing it out as well.
The in-thing at the club right now is beetroot juice.
We are all being forced to drink it and it’s an acquired taste, which basically means it’s pretty horrible.
But it’s meant to be good for you and I’m a sucker for that.
The science behind it is that it’s good for your blood, and you’ve got to trust the fact that the fitness coach knows what he’s doing, which I think he does.
Some of the elder statesmen like Dave Lucas aren’t yet sold on it though.
I don’t think you get too many people from Preston drinking beetroot juice and having shots of wheatgrass!
