KATE Cady has been appointed as Town’s new head of sports therapy, and will take up her role at the beginning of November.

As exclusively revealed by the Swindon Advertiser in July, the club are restructuring their medical ranks with long-serving Dick Mackey being replaced as the club’s physio, although he will remain at the County Ground on a consultancy basis focused on match days and specific player rehabilitation programmes.

And after a lengthy interview process, in which former Chelsea striker Mark Stein also met with the club’s chiefs, Cady was offered the post to assume overall charge of Swindon’s treatment room.

Town boss Danny Wilson said: “After an exhaustive recruitment programme, Kate’s professional approach, her wealth of experience and her in-depth knowledge of her subject made her a stand out candidate.

“I am fully confident that she will make a significant contribution to the club. She is so highly respected by the management and the players and I am looking forward to working with her.”

Cady, pictured, who holds a Masters degree in Sports & Exercise Medicine and is a senior lecturer at the University of Gloucestershire, already has a detailed knowledge of the club having provided years of support to the youth team and Centre of Excellence.

She also travelled to Austria on Town’s pre-season tour and conducted the first team squad’s physiological assessments earlier in the summer, and is currently undertaking a degree to become a chartered physiotherapist.

Meanwhile, Swindon have launched a ticket initiative for their next two home games, offering supporters the chance to see both matches for one price.

Huddersfield are the visitors to the County Ground on Saturday before Plymouth come to town a week today, and the club have announced their prices for the two-game bundle.

For a seat in the Arkell’s Stand or Don Rogers Stand, an adult seat for both games costs £27, with concessions at £22.50 and juniors £13.50.

And watching both games from the Town End will cost an adult £24, concession £18 and junior £13.50.

Season ticket holders are also able to bring a friend to the Plymouth fixture for half price.

The ticket offers must be purchased by Friday, and for more information call the club’s box office on 0871 223 2300.
