PAOLO Di Canio insists it will take much more than a two-match touchline ban to damage Swindon's chances of securing promotion from League Two.
The 43-year-old will have to watch the upcoming games against Crawley and Hereford from the stands following his charge of improper conduct by the FA for his second sending off of the season in the 1-0 win over Macclesfield last month.
And while he is unhappy with the punishment he has been given, Di Canio is adamant that it will not derail the Robins' bid to escape the basement division at the first attempt.
The Swindon boss told the Advertiser: "It is disappointing but it is not a problem because, like I said before, I can be given a 10-match ban and we will win the league.
"They have to do something more to put us in trouble."
Last Tuesday, Crawley beat Cheltenham 4-2 to climb to the top of League Two, but the game was marred by an altercation between the two clubs’ respective managers - Mark Yates and Steve Evans - who were both subsequently sent to the stands.
Town take on Crawley tomorrow night in a promotion six-pointer and Di Canio will be disappointed if no action is taken against Evans before then, allowing the Scot to take his place in the dugout at the County Ground.
"I am curious to see what is going on with the Cheltenham and Crawley managers,” he added. “If they are not punished for what they did then there is something strange going on against us.
“For this reason I want the fans to come down in numbers again to the County Ground, because we have to play against many people, not just the opponent.
“This is where we need the fans. They need to come in numbers to help us to win the league.”
Swindon’s game against Barnet at the weekend was one of a host of League Two fixtures that fell victim to the weather, and once again Di Canio made the most of the situation by holding a training session on Saturday afternoon.
After a game, those who played the day before usually train differently to those who did not, and Di Canio welcomed the chance to work with his entire squad in preparation for tomorrow’s game.
“If the pitch is in a good condition I would choose to play every time,” he said.
“But it has been good to have the players all training together though because they can help each other more and they can see each other’s strengths and weaknesses.”

Last night many of you will have missed a massive upset as Zambia beat Ivory Coast to win the African nations cup in Libreville, Capital of Gabon.
This was redemption for a nation 19 years on from their equivalent of Munich. That day the national team all died bar three players, (who were coming from Europe) just over Libreville. The investigations blamed mechanical failure but there were unfounded rumours of a missile strike. The Gabonese refused Zambians access to the enquiry and resentment was set. "To be Gabon" is to be currupt in the Zambian lexicon.
They resurrected their team and were a point away from qualifying for USA 94. I went to Casablanca, wore my yellow away Town top of the time (!) and cheered them on with the 85 Zambian fans that were able to make it. Amazingly FIFA appointed a referee from Gabon who didn't give a blatant penalty with 15 to go and Zambia lost 1 nil. Devastating for a nation.
Last night a team with one player plying his trade in Europe at Young Boys in Switzerland beat the might of the £200,000 a week boys. Drogba, Tourre brothers, Kalu, Gervinho et all were vanquished and the trophy was lifted for the dead of 93.
Why do it'll this story here? Partly it's a good story that everyone should be happy about but more importantly that the TEAM and it's spirit, is the only thing that matters. Please we have had far too much of it but can the Clarke and Kerrouche apologists please now stop. Please learn learn when a team made up of players from Angola, China, Kenya, Zambia et al can beat world famous players it's about passion, desire and bravery to play their football. I like the confidence of PDC, as I said before possibly a blessing in disguise keeping PDC away from the Fat Evans and his henchman, it seems to happen all to often with these two - Even Danny Wilson if I remember rightly had a fallout with them - it was so much that DW had to unfold his arms.

One point I did see that questions are agin being raised as to Crawleys wage bill??????? as there gates are 3500/4000 is Fatty eavans up to his old tricks again.he ruined Boston and got kicked out of the FL, how is he allowed to manage with his record????
Anyhow I do hope we can win tomorrow that's if the game is on.Go Reds just do it good luck

Did anyone here Mr wray on the radio this morning, there will be special seats for people that want to sit and people that want to stand and sing can all be together as well. it is good to see the club listening to the fans after the washout of the play off final with fans being put all over wembley, which resulted in no atmosphere. Well done Mr wray the cup will be ours now i'm sure.

I don't think Jeremy was disputing the stadium is all seater, but you know as well as I do there will be persons who do not respect their fellow supporters and will stand up and block the view of fans who do follow the rules and remain seated. I don't have a problem with youngsters standing, Lord knows we have all done that in the day when terraces were the norm. I think what Jeremy was hinting at there will be a dedicated area for people who want to sing and stand, it's not his problem to control them, but he doesn't want the day spoiled for fans who want to remain seated by a few numpties who think they are the only town fans that count and really doesn't give a tinkered cuss for the rest of us.
