Smith leaves Swindon Town to rejoin York

Jonathan Smith, who has left Swindon Town to rejoin his old club York
Joanthan Smith has rejoined York City.
The midfielder has penned a two-year deal after being told he was surplus to requirements at Swindon Town.
Smith only arrived at the County Ground from York 12 months ago for a fee in the region of £30,000.

Bradford & York are getting 2 very good players who helped STFC become champions last season.
I am sure I speak for the majority of Town fans. Thanks for everything you did and hope you both do well for your respective clubs. Best respect are that both players would get applause and not boo's if are paths ever crossed again.

Trouble is when a player is singled out they can do nothing right in their eyes.
It may be a good thing he is staying as he is big enough to rise up above it and get on with playing football.
Not the greatest Town player ever but he played in the majority of our games last season (nearly all of which we won), always gives 100% and is prepared to but his body on the line for the team.
Good luck to Smithy, another who always gave it everything, but I have a feeling the Wembley game was the reason for him not featuring in Paolo's future plans.

What I said was I agree he is not a top L1 striker - the fact that no one in L1 followed up their initial interest and he is now a L2 striker again seems to back that up!

I have nothing against him and hope he does well at Bradford - we have just moved on simple as that really
.
If you are that confident we have lost a goal machine - pop down the bookies put a wager on him topping the L2 scoring charts and make yourself a few bob!
