PREDICTIONS LEAGUE: Swindon Town v Coventry City

Dear all, .
…..one thing I've always lived by as a Town fan: If at first you don't succeed…..redefine success!!…..not something we'll need to do this season though!
.
Well as mentioned 4 wins out of the last 5 games but we all have one eye on the lack of dominance and quality there's been in the last few games but .
I have to be honest and say I don't know diddly squat about the current Coventry team but I do know it is the 3rd time in succession that we'll be playing a team with a new manager in the last 3 weeks….not a great help to our cause but this team have to step back up to the task in hand and show the undoubted footballing qualities they all have.

I can remember the game up in Coventry in 1994…just!…mainly as it was the first time I'd ever visited their ground but other than that the only two occasions that we've played them since 1968 have both been at the County Ground winning one 3-1 and losing the other more recent F.A.Cup tie 0-2. Some of the more mature amongst us will remember that the 1968 fixtures were in the League Cup and on our way to that historical date at Wembley with a 2-2 draw away and a 3-0 win at home.

All in all we've done quite well against them in the league in recent years at the County Ground….well by recent years I mean the last 10 games since 1955(!?)…I guess recent is pushing it a bit! :-) Since then though we've Won 6 - Drawn 3 - Lost 1 (we've lost a couple of others but both were F.A. Cup ties)….the last 3 results have been 3-1; 4-1 and 4-1 wins….so I'll settle for that come 5pm on Saturday without a doubt!!
