SWINDON Town have altered their travel plans for this weekend’s long away day at Carlisle United, with the squad set to stay in a local hotel in Cumbria overnight prior to the clash at Brunton Park.
Town have not stayed away the night before a game since the visit to Sheffield United in December, a game they lost 1-0, and their improved away form seems to have coincided with the decision to day-trip.
However, the 550-mile round trek to Carlisle has sparked a change of plans and Swindon will drive up by coach on Friday.
Manager Mark Cooper told the Advertiser: “Thank you to Lee (Power, Swindon owner), he’s made sure we’ve got an overnight trip so we’ve got the luxury of travelling up (on Friday) and preparing properly.
“As a player I wasn’t too keen on staying in different hotels and different beds and hanging about hotels.
“I just wanted to get to the game and play.
“Everybody’s different.”
