YASER Kasim is unlikely to play again this season.

The Iraqi midfielder is set to discover today whether or not he has a stress fracture to a metatarsal bone and Swindon Town boss Mark Cooper revealed after Saturday's 1-0 victory over Brentford that the Robins are unlikely to see Kasim again this term.

“We are still waiting to find out if has got a stress fracture of his foot or not, it his metatarsal. We find out on Monday,” Cooper said in his post-match press conference.

“It will be touch and go if he plays for the rest of the season.”

Swindon were also without Alex Smith for the win with Cooper saying: “Alex aggravated his knee problem.”

With Smith and Kasim both out, Cooper brought back Raphael Branco and the Town boss was pleased with how the Brazilian played, while Grant Hall made the briefest of cameos after returning from 11 weeks out through injury.

“He (Branco) did fine. He started off a little rusty, but you'd expect that,” Cooper added.

“Once we got him right positionally in the back three he was very good.

“I though Jack Stephens was outstanding, along with Troy and Rafa. It was a very good rearguard action, not so good going forward.

“It was good to see him (Grant) back, we have got two games in four days next week so the squad will come into play.”
