TROY Archibald-Henville remains in discussions with Swindon Town regarding the possibility of a new contract at the County Ground but his representatives are offering the defender to clubs around the Football League.

Town have tabled a reported pay as you play offer to the centre-back but no agreement has yet been reached, according to sources close to the player yesterday.

However, Archibald-Henville’s name is being circulated to any interested clubs, with the 25-year-old able to move on a free transfer as his two-year deal with Swindon is due to expire at the end of the month.

The Advertiser has seen an email which has been sent to sides in League One and League Two advertising the ex-Tottenham trainee’s availability. A Town spokesman said the Robins did not wish to comment at this stage when questioned about the state of discussions with the former Exeter City defender.

Archibald-Henville was signed for Swindon by Paolo Di Canio in the summer of 2012 but rarely featured for the Italian due to a recurrent knee injury. After a spell at Carlisle United at the start of last season, the problem flared up once again and required corrective surgery, ruling him out of action until February.

On his return to the Town team, Archibald-Henville became the rock at the heart of the Robins’ defence, helping his side keep five clean sheets during an impressive end to the campaign. In total, he has made 23 appearances for Swindon, scoring once in a League Cup clash with Burnley.
