It seems like an age since the last league action back on May 3rd.

Been quite quiet through the summer months hasn’t it.

Just the odd matter of the World Cup. The Germans doing what they do best – reliability and efficiency.

There’s also been the Commonwealth Games to keep us entertained. Didn’t the Home Nations do well.

Oh, and the cricket, but less said about that the better. Although England did manage to win a test match, at the eleventh time of asking.

While back at the County Ground, we’ve seen players going and new ones come in. We’ve seen Lee triumph over Jed in the courts to resolve the ownership issue, and I for one think the Club is now in a safe pair of hands.

Roll on the new season.

Swindon v Scunthorpe

Swindon start the season with a home fixture against Scunthorpe. The 12/13 season saw Scunthorpe relegated from League One and the 13/14 season saw them bounce straight back again as runners up in League Two.

The last time Scunny visited the County Ground it was a 1-1 draw with James Collins getting the goal. A lot has changed since then with only two Town players remaining at the club from that match day line-up. Wes Foderingham and Nathan Thompson. There was also four ex-Town players in the visitors tream; Dave Prutton, Leon Clarke, Callum Kennedy and Mike Grella.

Let’s hope that Cooper’s Cubs, or is it Power’s Padawans can get the season off with a win.
