WILTSHIRE fought back well on a rain affected opening day Unicorns Championship Western Division match with Cheshire.
After winning the toss at Devizes, skipper Ed Young opted to invited their visitors to bat first and the Cheshire openers Calum Rowe and Danny Leech took full advantage.
The pair put on 93 for opening wicket with Leech the man out for 23 after Swindon’s Jake Goodwin sent his stumps tumbling.
The Hampshire academy product then trapped Rick Moore leg before with his next delivery to leave the visitors 93-2.
Young then trapped Wayne White leg before for seven before Corsham seamer James Arney returned to the attack to bowl Ed Fluck for the same score.
Cheshire, who had gone from 93-0 to 133-4 when the heavens opened to leave, will be hoping that Rowe will be able to go on and complete his century in tomorrow morning as he was unbeaten on 83, while new batsman and captain Lee Dixon had yet to face a ball.
