Chiseldon Local History Group will welcome David Bailey to a meeting for a talk on the Chiseldon camp during the First World War.

David, a former chariman of the group, has written two books on the army camp established in the village in 1914 and saw thousands of troops based there throughout the conflict.

The meeting starts at 7.30pm at Holy Cross Church Hall, Butts Road on Wednesday, April 16. There will also be an opportunity to visit the site of the camp in August.

The group is also working towards opening the Chiseldon Museum on April 5, with an exhibition dedicated to the 1914-1918 war.

Research is being conducted on the men listed on the village's war memorial at Holy Cross Church.
