David Hemery, the former Olympic gold medallist, will be in Swindon for an event organised by the local branch of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

He will be giving a lecture tomorrow to HR professionals on the topic of how to get the best from yourself and others.

More than 60 people have booked and the venue is the University of Bath in Swindon, Oakfield Campus, Marlowe Avenue.

There will be a buffet at 6pm followed by the lecture at 6.30pm. The event will finish at 8pm.

David Hemery, pictured, is best known for his world record breaking run to win the 1968 Olympic 400m hurdles and following a silver and bronze in the 1972 Games went on to win the sporting Superstars three times.

A teacher of economics at Millfield School, he moved to Boston University for seven years where he was the head track coach and taught in the school.

Since his return to the UK in 1983 he has he has spent most of his time teaching coaching and mentoring skills to business managers and sport coaches.

Currently vice-chairman of the British Olympic Association, he is working with Lords Sebastian Coe and Colin Moynihan on the UK-wide Sporting Legacy which came about from the 2012 London Olympic win.
