Swindon and Cricklade Railway

TRAIN enthusiasts are more than catered for in Swindon and can even get hands on experience at driving a real steam engine at the Swindon and Cricklade railway.
The Swindon and Cricklade Railway is a restored part of the Midland & South western Junction railway which was in competition with the Great Western Railway in the 19th century.
It is Wiltshire's only standard-gauge Heritage Railway and a registered charity, so well worth a visit.
Future plans include extending the line towareds Swindon.
The railway runs a series of special events throughout the year and is available for private functions.
Every boys dream, you can even learn how to drive a steam or diesel locomotive.
