| Glenn Tilbrook |
WOMAD, the UK's most famous world music festival, makes a welcome return to Wiltshire this year with acts from 36 countries around the world and stars such as Boy George, Eddy Grant, Squeeze and Lee Scratch Perry strutting their stuff.
The World of Music, Arts & Dance Festival is at Charlton Park, near Malmesbury from July 25 to 27.
The Grammy award-winning reggae and dub king Lee Scratch Perry is appearing on the Thursday night as part of veteran producer Adrian Sherwood's On-U-Sound Showcase.
Chris Drifford and Glenn Tilbrook from Squeeze, who gave the world such classic pop songs as Cool For Cats, Up The Junction and Coffee In Bed, will be stopping off at the festival following their UK tour.
Reggae king Eddy Grant says he is delighted to be playing at the famous festival. "WOMAD is still about real people from all over the world coming together to play real music. I'm thrilled, it's going to be a great event. To be going back on the road after 25 years and playing WOMAd is very special for me.''
1980s icon Boy George will be donning his DJ hat and bringing his eclectic selection of house music to the festival.
Music from Egypt to Cuba, India to France, Cambodia to Brazil and Japan will ring out across the site and there will be more than 40 different types of food from all over the globe to sample.
Bristol boy Roni Size, pioneer of drumn' bass, will be on the beat on the Saturday night.
There are seven separate stage and workshop areas along with entertainment for children.
Tickets are available at www.WOMADshop.com.
