Taking in 30 dates around the UK, Glitz, Blitz and 70's Hitz is set to be the most glam event of 2008.
Showaddywaddy introduced the stylish rebirth of the 50's Rock n' Roll and swiftly became one of the biggest groups of the 70s, dominating the British charts. After their first release Hey Rock and Roll shot to no.2, they went on to spend an impressive 209 weeks in the top 40. Ten of their further singles went to top ten, notably the smash no. 1 Under the Moon of Love. They are now celebrating over 30 years in the business. Hits include Hey Rock n' Roll, Under The Moon Of Love, Three Steps To Heaven, You Got What It Takes and I Wonder Why.
Joining Showaddywaddy on this spectacular bill are two of the biggest glam-rock bands of the era - Sweet and Rubettes (featuring Alan Williams). Sweet are the quintessential 70's glam rock band, who brought androgynous looks and crunching guitar pop to the masses. They spent over three years in the UK charts and had a number one hit with Blockbuster. Other hits include Hell Raiser, Teenage Rampage and The Ballroom Blitz.
Rubettes (featuring Alan Williams) are best known for their 1974 hit Sugar Baby Love that spent five weeks at no.1 in the UK and sold 8 million copies worldwide. They had a further 15 international hits which established them as one of the true icons of 70's Glam. Hits include Sugar Baby Love, Juke Box Juve, I Can Do It and Baby I Know.
