SWINDON business Imagine Cruising has been crowned as providing the best Services to the Community at the Wiltshire Business Awards on Friday (April 15).

The award, sponsored by BBC Wiltshire, highlights ways in which businesses give back to the community they serve– something which shows is at the heart of Imagine Cruising. The Swindon-based company previously picked up the Customer and Staff Care award earlier in the night.

Lisa Schvartz, Operation Supervisor at Imagine Cruising, said: “I am overwhelmed, I can’t believe we’ve won. We work so hard as a company and we really push the community and charity side of things, so it’s brilliant to be recognised for that. All the hard work we’ve put in has paid off.

“If you’re doing well as a business you should work with the people around you in the community, using your experience to help them. We always try to be as involved in the community as possible.”

As experts in luxury and tailor-made cruises, Imagine Cruising also offers a wide selection of exclusive cruise holidays to spectacular destinations, sailing with the leading cruise lines from around the world.

BBC Wiltshire presented Graham Rogers, who also presented the awards ceremony, said: “I think it is a real recognition of their achievements and being more than just a business and focusing on the community. They are making a real difference in people’s lives in addition to their everyday business.

“The category was really close but for me Imagine Cruising stood out. What I think is brilliant is that the business allows their staff to make the decision on what charity to support. So very often, there will be a member of staff who has a member of their family go through a disease or illness and what I think is particularly great is that they can then help raise money for a charity and get really involves and that is what stood out.”
