I RECENTLY paid a visit to the museum and art gallery in Bath Road, something I haven’t done for a couple of years, as the last time I visited I felt very unwelcome and vowed I wouldn’t visit again.

But recently a friend looked around the new exhibition that was on and said I really must go and pay a visit.

Wow, I am very happy to say I am glad I did. From talking to a very lovely lady there I understand there is a new team of staff in place – and what a difference they are making. The place is alive again and passion has been bought back into the building.

They smile, have time to talk to you and share the stories of the wonderful collection of museum objects, as well as taking an interest in your stories.

I urge any local Swindon people who haven’t visited for a while to get themselves to the museum and art gallery. There is no excuse as it’s free to look around. What are you waiting for? It’s not often we get something for free in Swindon – make the most of it.

Well done to the new team - you are doing a cracking job.
