WITH sadness in my heart I write these words .The public has been inundated with details in the newspapers and on television about the civilian aircraft shot down in Ukraine .

Young children, families of all colour and creeds and nationalities, as well as family pets, losing their lives in a horrendous missile attack on a passenger aircraft. It could have been any one of us who have ever flown.

When will these posturing politicians of all nations, most of whom have never fired a coal fire, never mind a gun, in their vanity obsessed, delusional fantasies get the message?

Unless their country is under threat of immediate invasion, mind your own business. If it is, tread carefully with your firepower, in this age of our skies filled with commercial aeroplanes.

I was born in the middle of the Second World War when I was informed as I got older, about family members we had lost at Dunkirk.

Has nothing changed? The words of Jesus Christ after two thousand years are still being ignored.

John Lennon of the Beatles made a poignant statement. Some day the politicians will declare a war and nobody will turn up.

Unless our country was about to be invaded, would you blame them?
