I HAVE lived in Tydeman Street, in Gorse Hill, for 58 years and have run the Sunflower Cafe for nearly 13 years so I feel qualified to comment about the following.

Going along Cricklade Road, I could not help but notice all the hours the workman have put in and the materials needed and the enormous black pots ready for planting.

How really wonderful for Stratton Crossroads to get a makeover.

Where is ours? I’m on about the end of Cricklade Road; you know the end full of charity shops, hairdressers, not to mention two chemists, two betting shops and a set of dirty toilets. Takeaways? We had five at the last count.

The point I would like to make is why are the people in Gorse Hill forgotten? You have never as much as planted a dandelion here. Why?

Christmas? Old Town decorated, yes. Main town decorated, yes. Gorse Hill? Forget it; we don’t even get a glitter ball!

Come on council; do something for us traders in Gorse Hill, for the shoppers as well. Dig into the funds and give us a hanging basket or two.
