I think it would be a very good idea if people went outside their garden, house or flat and went to the nearest green space/roadside verge and picked up any litter there, squashed cake tins, crisp packets etc and recycle what they could and improve the look of the space immediately outside their home.
Not a good idea to pick up dangerous stuff - let the council know, they are bound to come and retrieve it!
Then the whole of Swindon would benefit or look better.
Grass would be easier to cut and life, particularly for children, animals and adults, would feel better.
Let’s have a Swindon clean-up of house areas outside your house ready for the good spirits to come in for the winter.
How about Halloween, October 31? Clean your street and park!
