I read the recent letter regarding the police and cyclists on pavements with much interest. A few weeks ago, talking to two police officers about cyclists on pavements, they informed me they could only do something about it if folk had to move to avoid these cyclists. Just then a cyclist passed us.
One policeman watched what this cyclist did and because no pedestrians had to move out of the way, nothing was done.
Does that mean that action will only be taken if someone has to make way for these pavement cyclists, or worse still, someone is knocked down and injured?
Challenge these cyclists and one either gets abuse or threatening language and/or behaviour or both!
