Des Morgan is absolutely correct in describing many politicians as snake oil salesman and his letter exemplified why I argue against voting in the next election.
I suspect the view he espouses is shared by many locally judging from the contributions I read on these pages. To vote is to support these salesman.
What I think would be more powerful would be to completely ignore their half truths, distortions and blandishments.
The more this happens, the less authority they would have.
Democracy may not be a spectator sport as some have said, it is meant to be the will of the people, and has not been for too long.
If you disagree just take a look around and ask yourself when did I get asked about this?
