I Thought I would drop you a line to have a moan about the amount of rubbish and litter discarded around our estate.
Does no one take pride in where they live any more?
I live in Park North, and if you were to wonder around and see the amount of rubbish and even fly-tipping that goes on you too might form the same opinion as me.
Is this area being used as a rubbish dump now?
Has the landfill site filled up, so a new one has started here?
While it is not unreasonable to expect litter picking to be part of the service provided by our local authority, I do understand their financial resources are a bit stretched at the moment.
But wait a minute – council tenants throughout Swindon pay around £1.50 a week to fund the council’s neighbourhood wardens, whose duties include litter picking and the removal of fly-tipping around local authority estates.
Perhaps then someone can explain to me why the dumped Christmas tree and litter near where I live (as shown in the photo ) has remained there now for over a month?
And why has the graffiti on the BT box remained there for over a year?
Not being a tenant I suppose I should not complain too much – but wait a minute, I am a council tax payer. Surely I am entitled to some service?
End of rant. I will get down off my soap box now.
