I am delighted to hear that the Post Office Ltd has listened to the people of Highworth and plan to put their service in The Co-op close to the town centre.
I worked very hard with Mark Dempsey (North Swindon Labour Parliamentary Candidate) and friends to collect 600 names on a petition and persuade those who have computers to fill in the consultation. They expressed their opposition strongly on the proposed dangerous position of the Post Office on the main road.
I would like to thank all the residents of Highworth for supporting my efforts.
I am disappointed Justin Tomlinson is claiming he is also pleased with the result when, at the time, he did not support opposing the plan, but instead suggested pedestrian crossings on the A361.
Pam Adams Highworth Town Councillor Swindon
