It’s that time of the year again when we all lose part of our licence fee which the BBC likes to pour away to cover the costs for another entry into one of the most biased and political minded contests in Europe.

There are 40 countries taking part in this farce. Last year, the cost for Engelbert’s attempt cost £310,000 to enter, then many thousands more to cover the cost of spending money, hotel rooms for himself, his staff and hangers on, (the BBC did not release these costs), the BBC crews etc.

Why do we as a nation put ourselves through this embarrassing, painful to watch show only for the singer or singers to achieve nil points or, like last year, a cheesy 12 points. The TV presenter Phillip Schofield has said on twitter, “It’s time to pull out’’. It doesn’t matter who this country sends, it could be Robbie Williams, Gary Barlow or even Susan Boyle, the results will be the same – NIL POINTS. Get out now and stop wasting the money.
