A HUNDRED years ago on April 24, 1915, the Ottoman Empire started moving Armenian Christians from their homeland and drove them on a long march into the Syrian desert.

Along this cruel march over a million Christians died. The treatment of the Armenians was so bad that it has been described as genocide.

Turkey has never accepted that a genocide took place against the Armenians.

Christians are still being persecuted today in Libya, Egypt, Iraq and Syria. There is no safe haven for Christians anywhere in the Middle East.

Britain is a Christian country and should always try to help when Christians are being persecuted for their faith in the Middle East.
