WHAT a fuss the residents of Wootton Bassett made about being without water for one day! My 92-year-old father-in-law lives in a retirement home and they woke one morning recently to no water supply. What did they do? They carried on living their lives with the minimum of fuss. They bought bottled drinks, cleaned their teeth and wet a flannel to have a quick wash with the one bottle of water they were supplied with. Then they just carried on as normal, i.e. taking a walk, watching tv or having a natter with a neighbour.
I appreciate it is hard to not have water but it is certainly not torture. Torture is when you have lost your home and all your belongings and have no food or water for days on end as the poor people of Nepal are suffering at the moment. Wake up and get a life and don’t worry about turning up for a game of golf feeling a little dirty!
