THE macabre (not to mention ghoulish) behaviour of the Indonesian authorities and Western media over the two Australian Bali Nine drug-running ring leaders’ executions in Indonesia has been sickening!
The likes of Virgin Airline’s Richard Branson and other such members of the Western world’s media, showbiz/entertainment etc elitist members protesting the inevitable executions of the Bali Nine’s two ringleaders may have virtually guaranteed ongoing Indonesian capital punishment/harshness with respect to drug-runners.
Sadly, Indonesia’s new president desperately needed the executions of these two Australian convicted felons to go ahead so that he can now put to the people of Indonesia that “enough is enough”.
If Indonesia’s current president (or current judicial system) had commuted the two Bali Nine ringleaders’ death sentences to life, then it is a certainty that Indonesia’s next president would have been a hardline conservative Muslim president, of what was a predominantly moderate massive Muslim nation before.
