MARTIN Webb obviously missed my point (Thurs, 30 April) when he criticised me for my comments on St George.

What I’m annoyed at is the willingness of our schools and other public institutions to desperately scrabble round to please other cultures and religions whilst completely ignoring our own.

Our children are being denied knowledge of our culture to please others. I don’t care if St George came from Mars.

He’s our patron saint and is largely ignored year after year.

And he accused me of having "disdain" for migrants.

I was also labelled a racist not long ago on the letters page.

Really? Call me what you wish. There are millions of people who feel the same.

Do you think every immigrant that comes here is thinking: ‘Those lovely English people. I can’t wait to get on with them and integrate"?

And yes, 90 per cent of them do head for England, not Wales or Scotland or Ireland.

Don’t you think racism goes both ways?

I have black friends who say the worst racists towards them are Asians who see black people as vastly inferior.

Walk around the town centre and listen for an English voice.

I rarely go there now (as coincidentally lots of the decent shops have closed whilst pound shops flourish) but when I do I often feel like the outsider.

Smearing and name calling are the lazy way for lefty liberals to try and win any argument.

But carry on. I am entitled to my opinions as you are.

The only difference is, there is a hell of a lot more evidence to support my views than yours.
