I WONDER how many SA readers, like me, were disappointed with the lack of coverage on the recent general and local elections. Yes, there were plenty of reports and pictures of the happy and jubilant Tories, likewise with the dejected looking Labour Party, but where was a full comprehensive round up of the general election results for South and North Swindon?

As for the local elections, all we had was a few passport photos of those who were duly elected on the night, again with no breakdown of results in each ward that was contested, with no information on how Swindon Council looks now regarding seats won and lost. All I know is the Conservatives have overall control but by what majority? With the election almost two weeks ago, I guess I shall have to rely on the internet for the answers.

If only your coverage of the election results was half as good as the splendid hustings you put on at the Wyvern before the elections.

Oh well, time to turn the computer on.

MARK WEBB Old Town Swindon

Unfortunately we were hampered in covering including the Swindon counts in Friday May 8’s Adver because we had a 130am press deadline and the result in South Swindon didn’t arrive until way past 2am. We did try and analyse all of the results in Saturday’s and Monday’s Adver but we had to rely on the web site to carry most of our coverage.
