OH NO. Cutbacks mean that CCTV coverage of us going about our daily business cannot be continued 24/7. However will we cope?
We are the most snooped on nation on any continent on Earth. Thousands of cameras a week capture us buying papers or walking through a town centre. And for what? It’s just cheap policing as there are never any actual police anywhere any more.
Did you know every new bus made has between eight and 16 cameras on board! Our country fought two world wars to defeat this sort of intrusion yet we have sleepwalked into this situation.
And isn’t it amazing they can get a crystal clear picture of you doing 32mph in a 30mph zone yet when you’re being mugged and beaten up in a town centre the pictures are ‘too grainy’ to be of use. Disgraceful.
