THE number of people being murdered by fellow patients while in hospital is a dreadful indictment of the NHS.

The latest example is RAF hero Kenneth Tyrer, allegedly kicked to death by another patient.

Will the hospital authorities, whose shocking negligence allowed this atrocity to take place, be called to account? I certainly hope so.

Elderly people must dread the thought that in their declining years they will be subjected to such wicked abuse in what should be a safe environment.
