Your article about the Vulcan bomber and my father’s involvement in saving this magnificent aircraft made heart-touching reading so I wanted to write these few lines to say thank you.
Your choice of words delightfully summarised a very unlikely story of preserving this unique Cold War aircraft.
I know Dad would be quietly yet immeasurably proud of what you have written and I hope he hears it flying overhead this weekend.
I will be there on Sunday and can’t wait to hear the rolling thunder of those four mighty Olympus engines again as they send our Delta Lady skyward for one of her last ever flights.
