Immigration madness

ON CHATTING recently to a very old friend who I hadn’t seen for quite a long time I discovered yet another stupid thing that we do in this country.

We let in known trouble makers and potential terrorists without blinking an eyelid.

Once they are here we support them with handouts and give in to just about everything that they want, even though this goes against the grain of almost all of our beliefs and traditions.

But this friend of mine, who happens to be a widower, wanted to bring a lady friend over here with the intention of marrying her.

The authorities have denied her a visa. Thus my friend and his lady love are unable to get married.

This lady is a native American and not on what is commonly known as a Watch List by any of the American Agencies.

From what I can gather she is an upstanding member of her community.

How then, you may wonder, can this happen?

Just about anyone from the EU can come here, and if they have a list of criminal convictions as long as your arm it doesn’t matter. They have the right to come here and do just about whatever they like.

Here we have a lady who is a citizen of one of our allies. Yet she is refused a visa.

Apparently, one of our MPs, due to his Governmental position, cannot represent my friend in this struggle as it would mean a conflict of interests on his part.

If this isn’t the whole section of this division of Government going totally crazy what is it?

Another “Jobsworth”. This MP would appear to be.

Stand up and b e counted has always been a part and parcel of British Life.

If politicians cant do the job they should then stand down and let someone with some common sense take over.

Why is this lady discriminated against when known terrorists are let in willy nilly?

I am glad I voted for Brexit.

Celebration of equality

AT THE end of this week Muslims will perform the Haj and celebrate Eid ul Adha.

A distinct feature of all Muslim devotions is that they stress equality among human beings.

A famous poet in a poem in Urdu about salaat, the daily Muslim prayer, said the following about a King called Mahmud and his slave Ayyaz:

“Mahmud and Ayyaz stood next to each other;

There was no servant and there was no master.”

And this is the true spirit of all Islamic devotions, Haj being a great example of it.

All those who go for Haj replace their normal clothes with two simple sheets.

As they go round the Holy Kaabah or pray, they are all clad in the same two white sheets, men and women standing together.

It is an example of what will happen on the Judgement Day when we will all be shorn of the trappings of this world, which we use to distinguish one from another.

The Holy Prophet, to establish a precedent of equality of brotherhood, entered into contracts and treaties with non-Muslims.

Showing great respect for their religions, he ordered that Islamic law will not be imposed upon them and that the non-Muslims will be judged by their own Canon Law.

It is sad that his example has been forgotten and that, the first thing that those who fight in name do, is to take away the rights of minorities.

I urge Muslims to return to the Holy Prophet’s example and I urge non-Muslims not to judge Islam by the actions of the intolerant, who are sadly found in all communities.

Eid Mubarak to everyone.

UKIP had right idea

AFTER a long investigation and carrying out an expensive opinion poll ‘thinktank’ British Future has found that some 62 per cent of people want immigration restricted to those who have the skills this country needs to enable us to thrive.

They do not want an “open door free-for-all” and that the best way to obtain this position is via a points-based system, such as the one they have in Australia.

Meanwhile, some 80 per cent want those immigrants here legally to be able to stay.

I wonder where they got those ideas from?

The 2015 UKIP general election manifesto, perhaps?

Once again we see evidence that UKIP is thinking well ahead of the rest in the political world.

Although they reject the ideas of our party when first spoken, even attacking us verbally and physically for our views, people come around to our way of thinking in time when they see it makes sense.

What we need now is for the electorate to finally see that our policies are sensible and mainstream before elections, not a couple of years later.

Pastors deserve praise

ON SATURDAY I attended Street Pastors’ fifth birthday celebration in Chippenham.

We should all recognise that they are an amazing group of dedicated individuals who offer care and support for those who encounter any problems or trouble on a night out in Chippenham.

The Rev Les Isaac, who founded the first street pastors group in the UK also spoke.

He is a really inspirational man with such a passion for helping others.

His admiration for the Chippenham group was well founded.

I look forward to seeing the street pastors continuing and going from strength to strength.

Representatives from Wiltshire Council, Chippenham Town Council and the police all work together with the street pastor and this collaborative partnership is proving to be so positive for our town.
