IN the Advertiser about the multi-million pound regeneration of Sussex Square I am appalled to read that my local councillor, Mavis Childs, is quoted as saying "And in Sussex Place things have got so bad that there is one block I call Vagrants' Paradise."
I have lived in Sussex Square since 1986 and feel these remarks are deeply offensive, especially as they are made by our local councillor.
These so-called vagrants are the very people who will decide her fate at the next local elections and I invite her to retract this statement by formally replying to this letter via this newspaper.
