Dan the Fan: A sorry season's last rites

Posted on 7:00am Friday 6th May 2011

When looking back over the history of Swindon Town I’m certain people will just glaze over this season like it didn’t happen and hopefully it’ll be sandwiched between two successful seasons at the club.

Thoughts from the Edge

Posted on 11:30am Sunday 24th April 2011

It’s one of those days where my thoughts and words baffle me! As I sit in front of my laptop and try and work on my novel, my dog Holly (a Siberian Husky with an attitude) disrupts my train of thought. She is asleep and snoring so loud that I think that my parents can hear her in Illinois. I don’t have a short attention span except when I have been drinking (ooh pretty flowers)...what was I saying? Oh yeah, my attention span and my writing. I get these great thoughts and ideas only to be forgotten when she snores. I am starting to get the impression she has Adenoid problems. Maybe I will get her some of those nose strips...naw I don’t think that they make them big enough for her big old nose besides don’t think that they would stay on with the wet nose and all.

Wide Awake Again!

Posted on 2:58am Saturday 23rd April 2011

Well here I am experiencing another night of insomnia! I was exhausted when I went to bed and now I am still exhausted and wide awake. As I decided it would be a good idea to come downstairs and look in the dictionary as to what insomnia is and the possible causes as I was not going to be able to go back to sleep anytime soon.

“I’m Bored!”

Posted on 11:47am Friday 22nd April 2011

Please let school start back already...I am begging and I don’t believe that I am the only parent! I can’t take much more of the words “I’m bored” from my teenage son anymore! I cannot say the words “Enough” again! The tone of my voice is starting to sound satanistic and I can feel my head beginning to spin (I am thinking like the movie The Exorcist).

Weeks of Life

Posted on 3:07am Thursday 21st April 2011

For the past couple of weeks I have not been in the right mind to blog. I apologise firstly to anyone who reads them and to myself for not having the strength to push through and get on with my life.

This Saturday 5th placed MK Dons visit the County Ground is another must win game for the club, after last Saturday’s moral boosting win the players must believe that the biggest great escape in Towns history is still a possibility.

Trollope fitting the bill for us long term

Posted on 7:00am Friday 8th April 2011

Exactly one year ago today Swindon Town were 2nd in League One, had just beaten Leeds Utd 3-0 at Elland Road and were looking like promotion contenders, in typical Swindon Town style its all gone horribly wrong.
