Surprise it’s a Gallstone!

What a shocker it is to be sleeping soundly dreaming, only to be woken up by sharp pains in your stomach. I was just dreaming about pains in my stomach when I awoke to the exact same situation? It is kind of ironic. The pains came and went until 6:30 am then they seemed to have gotten worse. I was able to tolerate it until about 10:30am. My son whom has special needs, called 999 for an ambulance. I am so proud of him.

After hours of being in A & E at Great Western Hospital in Swindon, I was poked with needles, prodded with hands and fingers, x-rayed, blood work and ultrasounds. They found out I had a big old Gallstone. How could one stone be so painful?

I was moved to the Surgical Assessment Unit, where I stayed 1 night. I met 4 amazing women, each with their own individuality, courage and life struggles. Even though we were all dealing with pain, the conversations and laughter was exhilarating for me. I suffer from Agoraphobia and didn’t think that I would be able to handle the situation but, I was wrong. I want to thank Kaylie, Rachel, Angela and Charlotte. I am wishing you all to get better and a wonderful life as you truly deserve all the happiness in the world.

The nurses and consultants were great and had awesome personalities. Thank you for caring for me and for all you do.

It is amazing how much we respect people when we learn more about their story .. and even though we are different in so many ways .. the journey is the same! Hope you are feeling better!
