HAS there been a game or moment this season where you really thought we could make the play-offs?

I'm sure it has been at different times for fans, but mine was last Saturday against Huddersfield.

With Town only winning once at the Galpharm Stadium in the last decade it was going to be a hard game, and it became even harder after the home side went ahead early in the first half.

In the past we would have crumbled, but now we have a team full of belief and we got straight back into the game, which was very important.

That's why this squad stands out above others in League One, because of the confidence and quality, and it is very important we take that into the next couple of games.

We finally have the balance of good players all over the pitch. In the past we had Sam Parkin scoring for fun up front, but there wasn’t the defence to back him up by keeping clean sheets often enough. But now we have a much stronger defence and we get the goals as well.

Danny Ward showed why he started ahead of the new boy Matt Ritchie against Huddersfield with an excellent performance and goal.

It was a shame they managed to level the scores up in the second half, and in the end we had David Lucas to thank for keeping us in the game as we claimed a very good away point.

Today's game against Carlisle will be another tricky fixture. I can't see us losing the game after our recent good form, but we will need to be careful because they embarrassed MK Dons last weekend.

But we have not lost at home since October, so I can't see them ending our unbeaten run.

Tuesday’s game should be a walk in the park, as Stockport are having a terrible season on and off the pitch.

They look almost certain for relegation, although they did show some fight last Saturday against our play-off rivals Colchester, and took a great home point.

They also gave us a hard battle back in January, but lacked quality in front of goal.

With them coming to the County Ground, I think we have far too much quality over the pitch and we will get a comfortable win.
