It happened about a week ago now, “Christmas Chaos” sneaked up behind me when I wasn’t looking and

POUNCED!

I’m really not sure which end is my head…

The shoe has been decorated by over excited, rosy-cheeked cubs and is doing a stunning resemblance of the tacky Christmas shop which has sprung up in the town centre.

There are Christmas presents hidden in every possible nook and cranny. Each time I go to open a cupboard or drawer, firstly I have to check for prying eyes and then I have to stand right back and brace myself for the whole lot to come tumbling out! I desperately need to do some more wrapping up and have not written a single Christmas card.

There is Christmas shopping, helping the kids write their cards, Christmas plays, Christmas fetes (which require donations of cakes) and Christmas parties (also requiring donations of party food.) Then there is Amy’s “Greek Day” (need to produce a hand made toga - wondering whose bright idea that was on top of Christmas!)

He does not want to be a sheep!

Abbie has a Christmas Carol Service and is a narrator. This involves helping her learn her lines and then standing at the bottom of a freezing cold garden, whilst she shouts them to me, in order to check that she is loud and clear enough.

Then there is Alfie… They want him to be a sheep at Christchurch. He does not want to be a sheep! Can you blame the child? Poor soul is traumatised by anything artificial, soft and fluffy and they want to turn him into a sheep! I have no doubt that he will eventually do it begrudgingly. His teacher is more determined than him Ha!

I hope to emerge from this chaos in January, vowing to diet after over consuming vast quantities of party food and alcohol (well, I have to get through it somehow!)
