It’s been a week of changes for all of us here. It was back to school for four of the children on Wednesday, my eldest started secondary school on Friday and Alfie also started school then.

I was very proud of my youngest daughter (6)today. It may only seem a small thing, but to me it meant she had grasped an important life lesson at the tender age of 6 - we girls have got to stick together!

We had a rather unfortunate experience today whilst visiting MacDonald’s in Swindon town centre. We had decided to take the children for a treat, but sadly it went from being a light hearted treat to a hard, shocking life lesson for them.

When Honesty And Pride Cause You To Fall

It has been a terrible ten days here and initially I hadn’t intended to tell you about it, as it's all a bit personal and I am a girl of pride. But, I felt that I owed an explanation to all those who I have been a bit of a stroppy mare towards, over on the comments section. So I changed my mind deciding to “out with it and sod the pride.” Writing about it is therapy. In addition to that, explaining my worries may help people understand that not everybody on benefits wants to be there and it's not easy to get out of the benefits trap.

Mum's on a rant (approach with caution!)

My son came home from school today with a letter informing me that his trip to Sevington Victorian School, arranged for Friday had regrettably been cancelled. The reason for this? A big majority of parents were unwilling to pay for the trip and the school were unable to make up the huge shortfall.
