Cracking Time

It has been a real fun packed Easter break this year and I have really enjoyed spending some time with the children. We have had Easter egg hunts, made cakes, done lots of arts and crafts, visited the Easter bunny on the train and also caught up with family and friends.

I have to tell you though, now we are nearing the end of the hols I am feeling slightly frazzled and looking forward to back to school on Monday. Only problem is that I have lost a school shoe! How do you lose a shoe? I only bought the shoes the week before they broke up and already one is lost. Where could a random shoe be? I want to know why it’s never the annoying things that we lose. You know the toy whistles that they tend to use at 7am on a Sunday morning, the lightsaber that is responsible for the big red line that goes right the way down the TV screen, the high school musical makeup that my darling daughter has used to decorate her bedroom wall, why can’t we lose those things instead of the essential, practical school shoe?

Speaking of frazzled, I really embarrassed myself on the bus this week, by grabbing somebody else’s child! I didn’t mean to I swear! I was sat at the front of the bus with the pushchair and the children were sat at the back. As the bus stopped, the elderly gentlemen opposite me asked for directions. I was busy giving directions when this annoying child tried to push past my pushchair in order to get off the bus. I was quite cross, as I am extremely hot on manners and really the child should have waited patiently. I thought it was one of mine and automatically grasped the child’s arm. Only problem was that it was not my child, oh dear! Directly behind the child was his Mother. I profusely apologised and luckily she did not take offence. I got off the bus rather red faced whilst my children sniggered behind me.

What has everyone else been up to over the Easter hols? And are you still surrounded by a mountain of Easter eggs? I have a large tower of them in the kitchen and fear that they will still be eating them in May!

Hi Becc's,
We managed to get away for four days over Easter (a caravan in Suffolk) which was great as both my wife and I are working all the hours we can get at the moment.
You are lucky that yours go back on Monday as ours all have TD days. As for things going missing I am still looking for the box set of Gavin & Stacy DVD's that my wife brought me for Christmas but they seem to have gone the same way as your school shoe. On the egg front we got the family to agree the 1 egg per child rule so no problems there.
Hope to hear from you again soon.
