Hello there
Did you have a good Christmas?
Christmas seemed so far away to me on Monday morning, when I got up in the cold and the dark ready for the first school run of 2010.
It was all a bit of an anti climax really after the lie ins and the chilled out starts to the day. The take your time breakfasts and the getting dressed when they wanted to routine (usually around the time that I began to prepare lunch and noticed that we were all still in our pjs!) The no need to squeeze in baths, the lack of homework frenzy and the bliss of no after school club pickups. I think that you catch my drift! Lazy days filled with spending family time together.
I think that is why Wednesday’s snow came as such a nice surprise. After only two days back on the school merry-go-round, it was all thrown out of action again. It has almost seemed like Christmas again to me and we have had a lovely time.
Unfortunately though, all good things have to come to an end and it’s back to school tomorrow, albeit a late start. This is the first time that I have ever had to take the children to school for 10.30am! We are being eased back gently into the routine all thanks to the wonderful lovely snow. So what if it's –4 out there and I fear for the day that the heating bill drops through the door! I love snow! Yippeee!
