Lainesmead School The Best School in the World!

Friday marked the 50th year of the opening of the children’s school. The occasion was certainly celebrated in style and much enjoyed by pupils, parents and staff. The children were asked to dress up in fancy dress, each year group in a different decade. We had to dress up five children, one in fifties gear, one in sixties, one in seventies, one in eighties stuff and one in nineties.

Back In the Land Of Swindon

We arrived back in Swindon on Friday afternoon, after our five day jaunt to Weymouth. In all honesty, I think myself and Michael need a holiday to get over the holiday lol! It was a challenging few days as my eldest (with autistic related condition) does not cope well with change or new environments. Last year my parents came with us so we were spoilt. This year they could not make it and boy were they missed! They did manage to come down and spend a day with us though, which was lovely.

After doing three sports days, one children's party and two school discos, all in 24 hours, I was in desperate need of revival, so last night I escaped!

The kids are all packed and ready for Monday, just mine and Mr Wolf's to sort out now. I have had a wonderful few days with my brood. On Thursday we had two sports days to watch and then again this morning another one. This evening I helped out at two school discos. Between all that, I took Alfie to a birthday party, where he behaved really well (apart from trying to steal his cousin's girlfriend!)

Well it's been a while since my last blog. I shall blame my neighbour and adopted sister Mrs Nik; she gave me a nasty shock on Sunday. She asked if I was ready for my holiday.

It's my birthday tomorrow but I have done celebrating it for this year. I went out at the weekend. My reasoning for the premature celebration was that tomorrow I will be WAY too emotional to be in Birthday mode.

Help! I am allergic to my mad life!

Yesterday I had an eight hour sneezeathon! I seem to be allergic to lots of different things including deodorant, soap and washing powder! I do not wish to become a smelly minger however so I still use these things, it just means that I sneeze a lot. Yesterday though went beyond it. I just could not stop sneezing and it went on for so long that I ended up with a migraine, slits for eyes and a very painful swollen face. I took so much piriton that by bedtime I was knocked out for 12 hours straight!

Broken Washing Machines And Dillys!

One thing I love about my life is the fact that it is never dull and I am never bored. Fresh challenges seem to be thrown at me on a daily basis and I seem to thrive on them (well except for the minor problems of bags under the eyes and rapidly greying hair that is!)

Statutory Assesment v Bebo

My four oldest children are doing their SATs this week. Sats are exams that children do from the age of seven, every year. They are tests done under exam conditions that last for a school week.

What Do We Expect !

I applaud our government's decision to put cigarettes out of sight in shops, for our kid’s sakes. OK, I don't think for one minute that it will stop some of our kids smoking but, it shows a clear message that we do not want kids to smoke. I also applaud drink awareness campaigns and restrictions in the advertising of alcohol for the same reasons, for our kids.

No "end" in Weekend
