Hello. I'm Carl Burkitt, a local 22-year-old graduate with a degree in Communication and Media.
Now that my last exam in full time education is done, it's time to adjust to the "real" world.
So, as late night parties turn in to lunchtime coffees, and greasy takeaways become home-cooked meals, I will be talking about life after university and the gaining of responsibilities.
In this blog I’m supposed to be talking about leaving university and entering the “real world”. But since being a resident of this place for several months now I’ve found it to be a little bit bonkers.
If you are feeling miserable today, please accept my apologies for I am feeling somewhat chipper (yeah, I just said ‘chipper’).
Hello young lovers and good afternoon on this beautiful Valentine’s Day.
Since first going to University, leaving my family home and getting my first real taste of independence I, like many, have wanted to experience the whole world all at once.
In my experience at Uni, students are very reluctant to part with a lot of cash in exchange for one alcoholic drink (unless of course it’s guaranteed to do damage).
Roughly this time last year I was sweeping up glass off my hallway floor after a friend got “carried away” during a snow ball fight.
Now before you start thinking this is going to be a cynical rant on modern life and I’m just another product of the MTV generation moaning that life is boring, it’s not.
