Bullying and stress featured at Swindon network
Bullying and stress is the topic featured in the first meeting being held by the Swindon Mindful Employer Network in 2012. It takes place on Thursday 1 March 10.00am at the De Vere Village Hotel in Swindon and will feature employment lawyer Paul Archer from Lemon & Co. Paul says of his presentation: “Human Resources Managers and Employment Lawyers will tell you that complaints about bullying and stress at work have grown enormously over the past 20 years. It is not clear whether this reflects a change in the working environment or a change in workplace culture but, in any event, it represents one of the biggest challenges for companies. The purpose of this training event is to understand what the concept of bullying actually means and to appreciate the legal framework around unacceptable treatment at work. More significantly, we will be looking at the practical strategies open to employers including the management of stress-related sickness absence, the handling of grievance procedures, the consideration of adjustments to the working environment, and the negotiation of compromise agreements.”
Richmond Fellowship Wiltshire’s David Latham who manages the Swindon Mindful Employer Network comments: “Paul is an accomplished and popular speaker and I am aware that many employers benefit from his knowledge and experience of employment law. Increasingly we read about bullying in the workplace and the implications this has on staff and businesses. I believe this session will spell out very clearly why employers should have awareness of this growing area of concern.”
More details about this event including other speakers will be provided shortly.
Representatives of local employers and businesses are welcome to attend.
