Yet again our local judiciary pass a wholly inappropriate sentence on a local drug dealer who was also carrying a knife. The learned judge observed that the knife was not being carried for any criminal purpose. Perhaps he would like to tell us to what lawful use a butterfly knife can be put?

This judgement suggests that in appointing PCCs the government missed the point. It should be judges hitting the hustings. Perhaps then such bizarre sentencing would be a thing of the past in cases such as these.
