THE Beeb has launched the BBC Music Awards. A request has been made to include special posthumous awards to pop stars killed in car crashes while on tour of the UK.
The following names have been put forward to the BBC for their TV show in December of this year: Eddie Cochran (1938-1960); Johnny Kidd (1939-1966); Dickie Valentine (1929-1971); Marc Bolan 1947-1977); Adge Cutler (1930-1974); Cozy Powell (****-1998).
For this campaign to be successful it will take music fans from around the country to send letters to the BBC. It would mean so much for the families concerned, and it is time to honour these great stars who were taken before their time.
Please send your letters to: Bob Shennan, BBC Director of Music, BBC Television Centre, Manchester.
Peter Morgan, Woodend, Kingswood, Bristol
