In addition to the point made by Terry Hayward with which I agree, concerning the ever spreading tentacles of the EU, the EU president has confirmed the relationship between the UK and the EU.

The UK cannot make decisions on UK immigration, such decisions are not allowed. Jose Manuel Barroso is unelected yet seems entirely comfortable with interfering in UK affairs, whether or not the UK population want what he supports, and infers it has nothing to do with either the UK Parliament or citizenry in any case.

The principle of an unelected bureaucracy overriding an elected legislature is precisely why so many are anti EU and it is difficult to decide whether he doesn't get it or doesn't care. Neither is acceptable to the majority of the UK population and explains why so many want reform.
