We who write to your letter pages quite rightly have to give our names and addresses. In your column "Your Say" people email you using nom de plumes or perhaps nom de keyboard would be a better term.

These people use their anonymity to, in most cases, spew forth total garbage. The other day we had some one going under the name of Chewbacca writing that anyone who smokes tobacco is stupid, though apparently not if they chew it.

On 20 October someone calling them self 'house on a hill, ‘apparently a Tory supporter, wrote that the proposed savage cuts in children's services were a result of Labour Party debt.

When Labour left office in Swindon they left a £6,600,000 surplus; the current debt is £120,000,000, despite savage cuts in services and jobs and the selling off of public assets.

So he was 100 per cent wrong there. Maybe he meant the shocking debt left by the last Labour government, £900 billion. If he did, he doesn't take into account the fact that the Tory/Liberal government has raised that debt to £1,432 billion, despite the wicked austerity they have foisted on the working poor and unemployed. He was wrong there as well.
